Mudfest 2019

The Mudfest Team

Artistic Directors

Ellie Hamill
Co Artistic Director

I’m Ellie and I’m Co-Artistic Director of Mudfest 2019. I’m originally from the big smoke of Perth, WA, and did my undergrad in a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology. Now I’ve changed lanes to work in the arts with my experience lying in performing arts in the areas of stage management, production management, producing and directing. Through Union House Theatre I’ve worked with QCMADS, ICAC, UMMTA, UHT, FLW and now within the UMSU Creative Arts Department. I’m obsessed about original student art in all its many glorious forms and can’t wait to see all the juicy work that will be a part of Mudfest 2019.

Lucy Holz
Co Artistic Director

Hi, I’m Lucy and I’m a Co-Artistic Director of Mudfest. I have a background in theatre making, writing for performance and acting. Having been heavily involved in student art since first year uni, I am particularly excited to help foster and support the student work in Mudfest. Although I am currently completing my third year of an arts degree, my studies come secondary to any form of art, and so I’m far from finishing my degree on time. All the more time for Mudfest!

Lachie Bagnara
Performing Arts Creative Producer

I’m a Neuroscience graduate from the University of Melbourne whose degree has (thus far) only been useful for unending self-psychoanalysis as I worked and travelled the world last year. With a finger in every theatrical pie, I’ve enjoyed being onstage, in the orchestra, backstage, or behind a computer. I’m beyond excited to facilitate an exciting and diverse performing arts program for Mudfest 2019 as the Performing Arts Creative Producer. Pushing the bounds of the traditional theatre environment, I hope to put an emphasis on interesting works in unconventional spaces. I would love to encourage any manner of work to apply—plays, musicals, comedy, cabaret, devised work, dance, whatever fuels your artistic fire.

Ann-Marie Biagoni

I’m a Contemporary Performance and Theatre Studies graduate from ECU / WAAPA. Holding an Honours in Performance Studies (specialising in physical theatre and collaborative theatre making practice), I’m a founding member of The Open Lid Ensemble (Perth) and Floor Work (UoM). I’ve been a theatre performer and maker, as well as a musician for the past eight years, working with national and international acts, and touring original work around the country. Mudfest is an exciting opportunity for me to support new work and encourage the expansion of creative spaces and content, as the Creative Producer for Interdisciplinary Arts!
