Mudfest 2019

Auditions and Workshop

Have you ever wanted to work in café but you don’t have 2 years experience? Yeah, us too. That’s why we are opening our own, no previous experience required.

Mudcrabs café will be an interactive improvised work in Mudfest 2019. We hope to flip the internal script we all have when we enter a café and create a work that makes us laugh and think about the silly things we do everyday. You don’t need to be a comedian, a coffee expert or even a café goer to audition, just someone with a sense of fun.

It is highly recommended that you attend our workshop if you wish to audition for the work. Details for this can be found
here :

Friday 12th July 1-3pm in Training Room 1 (the auditions will run for around 45 mins)
Saturday 13th July 1-3pm in Room 304 in 757 Swanston st.

Send an email to or fill out this google form to book a time. If you cannot make either of these times please let us know and we can try to make other arrangements or include you in other ways.

Training Room 1 is lift accessible. Unfortunately we could not book the same space for the Saturday auditions and there are 4-5 steps down to room 304 from the lift. Feel free to let us know of any access requirements you may want us to know about before your audition.

The Mudcrabs acknowledge that we gather, work, perform and tell stories on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging. We recognise that we are on stolen land and that sovereignty was never ceded.
